Voices of Now is a collection of five short plays. Featured plays include:
- Peace by Piece by Michael Towers: Two boys meet at the base of the United States-Mexico border wall and discover that they share a common language - baseball.
- The Pie Contest by Michael Lovestrong: Two people, two pies. They may seem different, but are they?
- Pine Needles by Parker Couch: While running the failing family mortgage business, a Texas Hill Country broker is drawn into a predatory lending scheme. In order to save the firm, he begins targeting the most desperate people in town.
- The Honeysuckle Effect by Allison Orr: BlockCertain they once shared a romantic night decades ago, a persistent woman chases after an evasive stranger, who’s apparently had this conversation many times before.
- Who’s There? by Sari Boren: On a stormy Halloween night, a tween girl out trick-or-treating talks herself into a strange man’s house. He’s unnerved by her costume (and her presence) and tries to send her home. She’s frightened by the storm and refuses to leave. As the dangers outside grow closer and louder, will he be able to keep his promise to protect her?
