StorySistas gather longtime Austinites and ladies new to Austin in a supportive and caring group. New friends and old meet, connect, laugh, sigh, ponder, contemplate, and let rip more than 50 years of life experience. Having lived through tumultuous times historically and in some cases personally, the women have more in common than meets the eye. A shared last 50 years with their ups and downs, joys and sorrows, pain and pleasure, and everything in between, form the heart that unites the women.

Transcending lifestyles and cultures, the women open and share as they pursue living in the present. The ancient and intimate tradition of telling stories has connected and strengthened communities since there was language. It is an antidote to digital communications. For women 50+, sharing stories is one way to avoid isolation in aging, and StorySistas offers community and a place for women to connect.
