Texas 4000 for Cancer, the nonprofit organization at the University of Texas at Austin dedicated to cultivating student leaders and engaging communities in the fight against cancer, begins its Day One summer ride from Austin to Anchorage. The celebration known as ATLAS Ride invites supporters to raise funds and ride on a 25 or 50-mile route with members of the Texas 4000 team out of Lometo, Texas (near Lampasas). This will be the first time in two years that the team will complete the ride to Anchorage due to previous pandemic restrictions.
Registered riders are required to raise a minimum of $100 to be eligible to ride the day of ATLAS Ride. Those not interested in cycling with the team may purchase a food pass at the link below to join the “Finish-line Festival” for lunch and remarks from team members and presenting sponsor, Abbott.
Funds raised at the ATLAS Ride support Texas 4000’s cancer-fighting mission, leadership development program, and helps to ensure that more of the funds raised by the team can go to grants to cancer research and support service organizations.
