The Trash Makeover Challenge is a unique fashion show in support of the Texas Campaign for the Environment featuring amateur and professional fashionistas who use at least 90 percent recycled materials to craft garments and showcase them in a fashion show spectacle.

Past designers have used materials like over 900 Coca-Cola bottle caps made into a coat, over 600 fish scales made into a skirt, live ladybugs released onto the garment, plastic bags, dryer sheets and bubble wrap, just to name a few in their one-of-a-kind creations.

This year’s theme is Earth, Wind & Water. The event will feature a silent and live auction, fashion show, heavy appetizers, and complimentary themed cocktails. The dress code is '70s-inspired.

The fashion show will also feature 32 designers from across the country with sevent virtual entries and 25 live entries who will be judged on how best their designs fit in with the elements of earth, wind and water.

Proceeds from the event will help raise funds for TCE’s grassroots organizing for cleaner, healthier and just solutions for Texans.
