The TEMP Eurotour continues in the Lowlands - what is now the Netherlands, Belgium, and northern France - which developed many of the foremost composers, musicians, and artists of the Renaissance and early Baroque. From Amsterdam to Flanders, the event will sample some of the best music from the courts and churches, as well as street songs and dances.
The journey includes music by composers who were among the most highly regarded in Europe and who worked in major courts and cathedrals of France, Italy, and Germany. Josquin des Prez, Obrecht, and Willaert were but a small portion of the influential Renaissance composers from the Lowlands. The program spans the musical year, beginning with the new year and proceeding through Spring, Summer, and Fall to some of the beautiful Cantiones Natalitiae (Christmas songs) that were so popular in the Netherlands.
April 2 performance takes place at First English Lutheran Church, while the April 3 performance takes place at First Presbyterian Church.
