The Gallery ATX has curated a solo exhibition, "Optical" by Erin Carle, to be displayed at Moontower Cider Co.
A surrealist painter, Carle was inspired by optical art movement throughout this body of work. "Optical" addresses themes of inadequacy, consent, conformity, sexism, body standards, and other challenges women face in a world dominated by media and constant social interaction.
The solo exhibition also draws inspiration from Carle's personal experiences as a ballerina and model, two of the most physique-centric industries for women.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until December 10.
