Former FBI director James Comey comes to Austin to present his debut novel, Central Park West. He will be joined in conversation by Texas Tribune CEO Sonal Shah. Comey will be available to sign books after the event.
Comey's fiction debut takes readers deep inside New York’s world of lawyers and investigators working to solve a murder while navigating the treacherous currents of modern politics and the mob. When a years-long case against a powerful mobster finally cracks and an unimpeachable witness takes the stand, federal prosecutor Nora Carleton looks forward to putting the defendant away for good. The mobster, though, has other plans.
Comey based the character of Nora on his two daughters: Maurene, who is chief of Violent and Organized Crime in the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney's office, and Abby, who, like Nora, is gay.
