The VORTEX presents Entierro, a performance ritual by Eva Margarita. Entierro is a ritual in grief with a unique focus on soil/land. After a brief meditation ritual inside the theatre on the Eloise Stage, the audience will process to the Garden and participate in a burial. In an exploration of our collective mourning, this unique ritual moving into the dark time of the year offers new ways of hailing, remembering, and reinterpreting death.

Eva Margarita sifts through a postcolonial history of loss and release using her own body for connection. Entierro offers a burial, accessing memory, flesh, and the human need to accompany one another in life and in death.
