The Alamo Drafthouse celebrates tough women in film during November, so how could that not include the original xenomorph-buster, Ellen Ripley? In the first Alien film, Ripley first dealt with terror in space, but that only strengthened her resolve to take on an entire hive and queen in the sequel. She not only has to save and lead the cocksure space Marines from certain death and a wailing Bill Paxton, but she even goes into badass matriarch mode when she takes the alien queen head-to-head.
