Training classes for businesses on the single-use carryout bag ordinance

Last year, the Austin City Council unanimously approved the Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance, which will take effect on March 1, 2013. The ordinance regulates the types of bags that can be distributed by business establishments in Austin and encourages a shift to reusable bags.

The City of Austin will host free training classes for businesses seeking more information about the Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance. The training will provide an overview of the new carryout bag rules, enforcement and implementation, as well as offer time for questions and answers.

Bag distributors and sales representatives will be available. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

Morning Session: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Evening Session: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

(Both sessions will cover the same material.)
