The Trash Makeover Challenge, in support of the Texas Campaign for the Environment, features amateur and professional fashionistas who use at least 90 percent recycled materials to craft garments and showcase them in a spectacle for attendees. Past designers have used materials like over 900 Coca-Cola bottle caps made into a coat, over 600 fish scales made into a skirt, live ladybugs released onto the garment, plastic bags, dryer sheets and bubble wrap, and more

Guests will enjoy a unique show that challenges designers to make clothing out of repurposed materials, participate in deciding the People’s Choice awards, and learn more about the work to fight pollution all over Texas.
