Locals can make the most of the midweek holiday at TRIO‘s annual Independence Day Dinner Buffet, a bespoke barbecue that combines regular menu items with traditional Fourth of July fare, including Chef Elmar’s fried chicken, an outdoor smoked rib eye carving station and sides such as warm potato salad. For dessert, a spread of pies of all types and sizes will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

Aside from the fantastic food, diners will enjoy a variety of activities on the Hotel’s back lawn, from live music to hammocks and lawn games such as ping pong, giant Jenga and corn hole. Buffet guests interested in a do-it-yourself dessert option will also have access to outdoor fire pits, where s’mores stations complete with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers will be set up for the special occasion.

After dinner set off on a short walk across the lake for the city’s annual concert and fireworks show. The largest Independence Day celebration in Austin, the event begins with patriotic live music by the Austin Symphony followed by fireworks over Lady Bird Lake.
