University Christian Church and the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest, a Muslim organization in Austin, will be hosting an interfaith iftar dinner, a communal feast to break the Ramadan fast for the day. The evening brings together members the Austin community from many different backgrounds and is a chance for Christians to talk with their Muslim neighbors about Ramadan, their fellowship, and more. The goal is to foster dialogue, solidarity and peace among the different faith communities.
Members of the Dialogue Institute will provide a classic Mediterranean feast complete with a meat, vegetable, grain, salad, beverages and baklava for dessert. After dinner, members of the Muslim faith will have the opportunity to break off in small groups for evening prayers.
