For the last 16 years the Urban Music Fest has been rooted mainly in music. This year they will expand the brand to include Afrocentric aspects of culture to help all to better understand how we arrived to our cultural existence. Live music will continue to be a major part of the festival, but they will endeavor into other cultural markers such as ethnic dance, ethnic food, ethnic clothing, ethnic visual arts, spoken word in an effort to showcase Austin's diverse Afro-centric culture.
Performers will include Stokely, Zapp, Lyfe Jennings, Arrested Development, and more.
