Urban Roots, the Austin non-profit cultivating youth leadership and nourishing the community through food and farming, is hosting its annual Tour de Farm in-person or virtually. The event will showcase youth stories, meals curated by renowned local chefs, and Urban Roots’ new farm in South Austin. The event will start with golden hour farm tours, then continue at nearby brewery Meanwhile Brewing Co. for dinner, live music, an auction, and plenty of farm-fresh produce, all in support of tomorrow's future leaders.

The event will feature Latin Grammy-nominated artist Gina Chavez, and Chulita Vinyl Club Austin will be spinning during the cocktail hour. With COVID precautions in mind, the food for the evening will be served picnic-style and each attendee will have their own picnic basket to take home at the end of the evening. Guests will be some of the first people to tour Urban Roots’ second farm in the Dove Springs neighborhood. Tours will be complete with farm-inspired cocktails by sponsors Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Dulce Vida Tequila.

Participating restaurants and chefs include:

  • Chef David Arcos of Sala and Betty
  • Executive Chef Jo Chan of Eberly
  • Chef Danette Hampton of Péché
  • Executive Chef Rick Lopez of La Condesa
  • Chef Sarah McIntosh Epicerie
  • Chef Dylan Murray & Operating Chef Daniel Nossa of Local Foods
  • Executive Chef Fermín Nuñez of Suerte
