Women of West: Empowering Women Artists

eventdetail

In a collection of new works, "Women of West" brings together the talent, and drive of five female Austin artists. Julie Ahmad is opening up her modern home and studio to display her work, and the work of four other artists for the full duration of the West Austin Studio Tour. The exhibition will include complimentary libations, snacks, and good vides.

Five artists will be featured: Ahmad, Billie Claire, Ayla Erdener, Kristin Moore, and Lys Santamaria. Ahmad's intuitively painted abstracts explore patience and trust through her enlightening process. Claire's vividly illustrated designs and drawings make a memorable mark on the viewer. Working in a variety of medium, Erdener's work explores color and narrative. Exploring the landscapes of Austin, LA, and the highways in-between, Moore's work takes the viewer on a journey through nostalgia. Santamaria incorporates ancient techniques into her hand beaded work to create non-traditional pieces that are simple, yet intricate.
