ZM3LiveProductions, in celebration of Black Herstory, will present Ballot Eats the Bullet: U Matter, written and directed by Austin Arts Hall of Fame artist Zell Miller, III, with writing contributions from award-winning author and playwright Anne Wynter.
The play is dedicated to the most silenced voice in American history, the black woman. The engaging choreopoem fuses jazz aesthetic movement, elegant melodic voices in four-part harmonies, truth-laced spoken word, and beautifully crafted vignettes that engage all five senses and paint a portrait of what it means to be a black woman in America. The piece openly confronts topics such as identity, politics, healthcare, relationships, love, and police brutality, all told through a lens of tough love with a side of humor.
