Tig Notaro’s Professor Blastoff podcast records live at The Scottish Rite
When you’re a die-hard podcast fan, waiting a week between episodes can feel like a lifetime; luckily, this Monday, you’ve got a chance to hear the latest edition of top-rated comedy podcast Professor Blastoff as part of the show’s live studio audience, no less.
Hosted by stand-ups — and BFFs — Tig Notaro, David Huntsberger and Kyle Dunnigan, Professor Blastoff is consistently one of the funniest, smartest shows around, blending banter, interviews and thematic discussions (on everything from pregnancy and polyamory to illness and other intensely personal topics).
If you’ve been following comedy in the past year, you’ve probably heard of Notaro, whose critically acclaimed album — aptly titled Live, for several reasons — captured an incredibly intimate performance following the comic’s cancer diagnosis. In addition to presenting weekly discussions with some of the biggest performers in the business, Professor Blastoff has also chronicled Notaro’s experience, and the hosts’ close friendship, making it a multi-layered, seriously satisfying show with a massive and devoted fan base.
But hey, why not let the hosts explain in their own words:
Sound pretty great? You can explore the Professor Blastoff archives over at Earwolf for the full auditory experience, and thanks to the newly launched Video Podcast Network, you can also take a look at the show’s recent landmark 100th episode:
All three Professor Blastoff co-hosts have been working on some pretty excellent extracurricular activities recenty; Notaro and Dunnigan have been writing for Comedy Central’s forthcoming sketch series, Inside Amy Schumer, and Huntsberger is celebrating the release of his latest album, Explosion Land. So don’t miss your chance to catch the trio while you can!
