We’ve missed Cap City’s PUNCH! Comedy show the past few weeks, but tonight’s stacked Season 8 premiere was worth the wait.
The weekly showcase, hosted by Matt Bearden, took a break to enjoy the Funniest Person in Austin festivities, and at tonight’s show they’ll be celebrating former title-holder John Ramsey. The ’05 FPIA appeared on Conan last week, and he’ll be headlining the much-anticipated premiere alongside some of our favorite comics.
The night's a little bittersweet: It's your last chance to catch Seth Cockfield, host of KPWR’s Grow Up! radio show, before he heads to New York (you can also hear him on last week’s Charlie Hodge Show).
Ramsey and Cockfield will be joined by Joe Hafkey, an FPIA finalist and recent transplant from Richmond, VA, and Duncan Carson, host of CultureMap’s own Pop Almanac podcast.
PUNCH! starts promptly at 8 p.m., and it always sells out, so get your tickets in advance to guarantee a seat.
