Austin Visual Arts Association announces finalists for the 2012 Visual ArtsAwards
The Austin Visual Arts Association has announced the list of finalists for the this year's Austin Visual Arts Awards.
Comprised primarily of working artists, gallery owners and private collectors, the long-running nonprofit works to enhance the city's appreciation and engagement with the visual arts in all its forms. They also showcase local work through regular exhibitions at Austin Art Space Gallery.
Every year, the AVA Awards recognize the Austin artists who have achieved excellence in a full range of mediums, as well as citing early career risers and lifetime achievers. The finalists are chosen by a hand-selected team of 12 arts-minded individuals who come from all backgrounds of Austin's arts communities.

The Awards ceremony will take place Nov. 15, once again at the AT&T Executive Conference Center. Carla Stanmyre McDonald, founder and president of Dynabrand PR, will be the host for the night's event. Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with the 2012 awards presented afterward.
