On Friday, May 9, an immersive performance venue à la Las Vegas' "Sphere" will begin its inaugural season of music and visual projections here in Austin. ConcertDome is a 52-foot geodesic dome designed for peak acoustic brilliance, plus psychedelic and totally immersive visual projections.
Three nights per week, ConcertDome will feature three shows with a live string quartet playing a different theme each night. These classically-trained musicians have played the likes of Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House, but for this experience will play everything from Kendrick Lamar to Radiohead.
As the music plays, guests can lean back, relax, and watch the panoramic projections illuminate the walls of the dome, enveloping the audience in a 360-degree visual environment. Projections will shift with the emotions and sounds of each song, leaving guests to lap up the sensory dreamscape.
"Music is all about connection, but as musicians, we typically perform separated by the boundaries of a stage. ConcertDome removes those barriers, using immersive visuals and intimate seating to bring musicians and audiences into the same world," said ConcertDome founder Tom Yaron in a press release.
“Our concerts are always crafted with the superfans in mind," Yaron continued, "and we strive to meet, match, and fuel their passion — to make each show a celebration of the genre or artist being performed, with attention paid to every detail. There's a personal element here that the audiences can really feel."

Each show will last one hour and be performed three times per night. The dome will feature 105 reclining seats arranged in a perfect circle around the central stage where the musicians will be positioned.
Just outside the dome, guests can stop by the outdoor bar and lodge, a.k.a. the "Dome-ain," which will feature a rotating menu of themed drinks and snacks for before and after the show.
"As of right now we have programming scheduled every weekend until November," says ConcertDome Director of Marketing, Bennett Price. "We are here to stay."
