A Central Texas family-owned massage therapy center is opening a new Austin location. Oak Haven Massage will open at 900 South First St., Suite 150, on December 15.
This will be the third Austin location for Oak Haven Massage, giving it an equal footprint in Austin and its hometown of San Antonio. It'll offer all the same services, including relaxation, deep tissue, therapeutic, lymphatic drainage, and other massage styles. Plus, 50 founding members at the new location will get additional perks. Regular members will get a 50-minute discounted massage each month.
The South First center spans 6,350 square feet, with a custom design by Austin-based JDAI Studio. There will be 25 treatment rooms that are both "modern and elevated" but "unpretentious" according to a press release. Because it is so large, the center should be more able than others to accommodate same-day bookings.
Two opening day celebrations will give Austinites a chance to check out the space. The first will run from 9-11 am with a ribbon-cutting by the Austin Chamber of Commerce, plus a build-your-own flower bouquet bar. Then from 5-7 pm, there will be a permanent jewelry bar, beverages, and charcuterie. Guests can also get chair massages and swag bags during both timeframes.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Oak Haven Massage to Austin’s South First Street community,” said CEO Allison Moreno. “This neighborhood has such a vibrant energy, and we’re honored to offer a space where people can slow down, reset and experience truly therapeutic care. Our team is eager to welcome new faces and help more Austinites feel and live better.”
Oak Haven Massage was founded in 2005 when retired chiropractor (or so he thought) Dr. Steven Shuel wanted to offer functional massage rather than a more typical spa experience. The business is now run by the doctor's daughters, Allison and Becca, and it continues to prioritize "medically informed bodywork" and its results. Staff are trained to focus on chronic pain, solving long-term problems.
Like all Oak Haven Massage locations, the South First center will be open from 9 am to 9 pm.
