Opt for Optimism
Vibrant mural pops up in East Austin to inspire optimism and photo ops
UPDATE: The pop-up event has been postponed and will take place November 16 from 9-11 am.

You might notice a new mural at 911 E. Cesar Chavez St., and hopefully it will lift your spirits.
Frost Bank commissioned artist Jason Eatherly to depict what optimism means to him, and the result is a colorful image that reminds us all to stay present and find beauty in the everyday. Eatherly is known for disrupting spaces with salvaged materials that he then turns into works of art, challenging viewers to see past erosion to the beauty underneath.
Come check out the mural for yourself on November 16 from 9-11 am, when Frost Bank and CultureMap will be hosting a pop-up event. Snap and share a photo in front of the new wall art, use the hashtag #OptForOptimism, and you could win $500 cash plus another $500 for your favorite nonprofit.
Expect other fun surprises and giveaways throughout the day, thanks to community partners Alamo Drafthouse, Love Cycling, and Ballet Austin, to name a few.
