Lovett Loves Austin
Texas legend Lyle Lovett plans big Austin concert with his Large Band
Texas favorite Lyle Lovett has plans for a big Austin concert. Officials have announced that Lyle Lovett and His Large Band will perform at ACL Live at The Moody Theater on August 25.
Lovett is also performing at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth on August 23 and Houston's Hobby Center on August 24.
With a career that spans 14 albums over three decades, Lovett is known for his unique Texas voice, which fuses elements of Americana, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues, coupled with a gift for storytelling. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he has won four Grammy Awards, the Americana Music Associations inaugural Trailblazer Award and was named Texas State Musician.
Lovett and his longtime love, April Kimble, live north of Houston and take part in charitable activities around the state. A big fan of Downton Abbey, Lovett appeared on the Houston Public Media show, Manor of Speaking, earlier this year to explain his love for the hit series. In February, he was honorary chair of the Texas Ballet Theater Gala honoring artistic director Ben Stevenson's 80th birthday at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth.
Tickets for his Austin show go on sale May 20 at 10 am for $49-$99.
