Klowning around
Canoeing with Klown: Rolling Roadshow invites you to watch a Danish sex-comedyon the Guadalupe River
Lars Von Trier's taste in comedy can be described in a lot of ways, and conventional is certainly not one of them. Proof of this exists in an upcoming Danish sex-romp buddy comedy his production company handled called Klown.
The film has been hailed as one of the funniest movies of the year, which seems like an odd thing to say for those familiar with the dark and psychological elements of Von Trier's other works.
To put it in context, though, Danny McBride — Kenny-fuckin'-Powers to those Eastbound and Down fans out there — is set to write and star in the 2013 remake. That should clue you in to the kind of comedy Klown delivers.
The raunchy plotline centers around two men – played by international comediansFrank Hvam and Casper Christensen — who embark on a canoe adventure they affectionally refer to as the “Tour de Pu**y.”
Adding to the frenzy, Frank decides to kidnap his pregnant girlfriend's 12-year old nephew to prove to her he is capable of parenting their soon-to-be-born child. That's the kind of logic that leads to the series of zany misadventures that populate this fan favorite from last year's Fantastic Fest.

To celebrate Drafthouse Film's recent acquisition of the film, the Rolling Roadshow team has put together a Klownevent to remember. On June 30, brave moviegoers are invited to head out on a full-fledged canoe trip down the Guadalupe River near Spring Branch (northwest of New Braunfels).
Following an inevitable shenanigans-filled day of paddling, Klown lovers will pull up to the river bank for an outdoor screening of the movie and an alcohol-fueled Q&A session with the film's two stars afterward.
Check-in for the canoe trip happens at 5 p.m. and the fleet floats out at 6 p.m. in order to make it to the river-side movie at 9 p.m.
Two adult beverages will be included in the price of admission, with more available for purchase at the river. Bring chairs, blankets, bug spray, flashlights and whatever else can be reasonably included in a canoe sex vacation.
Enjoy the movie, y'all, and float on safely.
