Lucy the Poodle’s fifth annual circus party promises much more than music
If you’re looking for a way to celebrate the end of another blazing hot June — or an excuse to don your favorite big top costume — good news: This Saturday, June 30, Lucy the Poodle Productions is hosting their fifth annual circus party at Beauty Ballroom.
Starting at 8 p.m., the variety show appropriately features two aerial acts, from Bang Bang and Woven Feet Dance Troupe (who will accompany SORNE), plus burlesque from The Jigglewatts, dance from The Jezebelles and a performance from the Minor Mishap Marching Band.
The evening’s also a record release party (and tour kickoff) for Austin orchestral rockers Technicolor Hearts, whose hauntingly beautiful 2011 single “Pretty” we’re still putting on all our mixtapes:
Stubbs’ Band of the Year semi-finalists Les Rav are also playing; check out their recent appearance on Good Morning Texas:
DJ Joseph Pearce will be on hand to keep people dancing between bands, and seriously, costumes are encouraged, so take advantage of the one night a year where it’s not too creepy to go out dressed as a clown.

Tickets are $10 in advance (available online now) and $12 at the door.
