The Lemonheads pucker up for 2025 comeback tour in Austin

The Lemonheads have released their first new music in almost two decades.
Pull out your old flannel shirts: On Friday, December 12, alternative rock legends will give Austinites a chance to relive their grunge years. The Lemonheads have chosen The Mohawk as one of four Texas stops for their 2025 tour in support of their comeback album, Love Chant.
Former slackers be warned, the tour appears to be focused on the new material, so there’s no guarantee fans will hear hits like “It’s a Shame About Ray” or the smash cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s "Mrs. Robinson." But Love Chant is frontman Evan Dando’s first new material in almost two decades, and it's receiving widespread critical acclaim.
Besides, the songs were written with a who’s who of collaborators known to any Gen X cool kid. Dando worked with J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr, Juliana Hatfield, The Moldy Peaches’ Adam Green, Pavement’s Bryce Goggin, and The Bevis Frond’s Nick Saloman on the recording.
The tour and album come on the heels of Dando’s recent memoir Rumors of My Demise. The book covers the early years of The Lemonheads, Dando’s struggles with substance abuse, and pre-Internet celebrity. Assumably, there will also be a few mentions of his high-profile dating history, which includes entanglements with ‘90s icons like Winona Ryder, Kate Moss, and Milla Jovovich.
Tickets are now on sale for a retro price — $41.50 — with a four-ticket limit per customer. Fans unfamiliar with the new music can get ahead of sing-alongs by streaming Love Chant here.
