Black Pumas play at C-Boy's, plus more Austin music picks for early November
The many, many events that dominate October in Austin have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that things are slowing down here in November. See below for a rundown of noteworthy local shows that you should consider checking out in the first part of the month.
DIA on Día at 3TEN ACL LIVE – Wednesday, November 1
Head to 3TEN ACL LIVE on November 1 to celebrate Día de Muertos via the 10th Annual DIA on Día. The massive lineup includes the likes of Money Chicha, Tameca Jones, Tomar Williams, AJ Vallejo, DJ Crash, Deezie Brown, Sabrina Ellis, Kalu James, We Don't Ride Llamas, Blakchyl, Como Las Movies, and lots more. Tickets are $27.44, and the event will benefit Easterseals Lonestar and “help those with disabilities live more independent lives.”
Black Pumas at C-Boy’s – Thursday, November 2
Celebrated soul rockers Black Pumas can be seen at C-Boy’s Heart & Soul this Thursday, November 2. There are no advance tickets being sold for what’s going to be a rather intimate performance, so if you’re wanting to be there, get in line early. Tickets are $30. The band just put out a new album titled Chronicles of a Diamond.
Good Field at Radio East – Friday, November 3
Radio East will host Good Field this Friday, November 3. The veteran rockers will be performing in support of their new album, Coyote, and they’ll be joined by Star Parks and The Dialtones. Tickets for the show are $15.95.
TC Superstar at Cheer Up Charlie’s – Friday, November 3
After a summer of singles (and release shows for them), TC Superstar will now celebrate their completed new album, Static Dynamic, at Cheer Up Charlie’s this Friday, November 3. Lady Dan and Fennec will open for the collaborative performance group.
S.L. Houser at the Mohawk – Friday, November 10
S.L. Houser (formerly of Löwin) has readied a new EP, Hibiscus, and she’ll ring in its release on the indoor stage at The Mohawk on Friday, November 10. The indie pop artist will be joined by San Gabriel and Club Coma. Tickets are $10.
Caroline Rose at Radio East – Tuesday, November 14
Indie pop act Caroline Rose is set to perform solo at Radio East on Tuesday, November 14. The show will benefit Free Lunch, “a collective of Austin creatives who reduce food insecurity by cooking and serving food, and engaging in food access advocacy by publishing a quarterly magazine.” Bruce (a new project from Carrie Fussell, formerly of Calliope Musicals) will kick off the evening. Tickets are $26.88.
Planet East at Planet K – November 11-12 & 18-19
Planet East is a four-day art and music showcase that will take place at the Planet K on East Cesar Chavez Street from November 11-12 and 18-19, which is during the Austin Studio Tour. More than 45 artists will be featured, and a diverse group of 16 local acts will be performing across the two weekends at this free event. See the lineups here:
