September is off a wonderfully mild start weather-wise, and you should for sure take this opportunity to catch (and not entirely sweat through) as many local shows as you can. Highlights for the first part of the month await you here.
Como Las Movies at Hotel Vegas – Tuesdays in September
Indie-cumbia-pop act Como Las Movies can be found at Hotel Vegas every Tuesday in September. Each show will have a $10 cover at the door, and the lineups are set to feature an eclectic mix of support. The full roster is here:

Chief Cleopatra at Antone’s – Friday, September 6
In advance of her first ACL Fest performance, Chief Cleopatra will headline Antone’s this Friday, September 6. The soul rocker will be joined by Skateland, Kane Alvarado, and Autumn Cymone. Tickets for the show are $12.
Parker Woodland at The Mohawk – Saturday, September 7
Parker Woodland will put out their new album, There’s No Such Thing As Time, this Friday, September 6, and then follow it up with a pair of release parties at the Mohawk. The first one is sold out, but you can still get tickets for the power trio’s matinee performance this Saturday, September 7. Tickets are $12 and the lineup also includes Tim Kile and Cobra Cats.
The Austin Chronicle's Hot Sauce Festival at The Far Out Lounge – Sunday, September 8
The Austin Chronicle will hold its 34th Annual Hot Sauce Festival at the Far Out Lounge this Sunday, September 8. As you indulge in a variety of tasty sauces, be sure to catch the live music portion of the event, which has a noteworthy trio of bands: Redbud, The Past Lives, and Flight By Nothing. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day-of.
Club Coma at The Mohawk – Friday, September 13
If you like getting a little weird on Friday the 13th, then don’t miss experimental rockers Club Coma at the Mohawk on Friday, September 13. Support for the evening includes Dossey and Mockjaw. Tickets are $12.
Rett Smith at The Mohawk – Saturday, September 14
A Weighted Remorse is the title of singer-songwriter Rett Smith’s new album, and he’ll be celebrating its release with a show at the Mohawk on Saturday, September 14. Travesura will open the evening. Tickets are $15.
