Consignment for the cool: Moss now accepting and selling men's items
Moss is clearing space in its closet for you, gentlemen. The designer consignment-store-for-the-cool will be accepting and selling men's inventory come March.
When the neighboring business, Howl, closed, owner Masha Poloskova decided it was the perfect opportunity for Moss to expand into the space and bring the opposite sex into the fold.
Moss has seen steady business since its opening in 2010 owing to the unique, straightforward model. Anyone with high-ticket items is invited to clean out their closet and bring the goods into Moss, whereupon Poloskova and staff will select pieces that they find fit to resale. The consignor then receives an email with the prices assigned to their items, and once sold, are sent a check for 45 percent of the selling price.
What's more is that you're going to find items in Moss that you can actually wear. They aren't so outdated that they are unfashionable; in fact, Poloskova says, "We try to stay pretty current, really no older than three years old. For example, if you saw a pair of Louboutins two years ago that you really wanted, you can find them here for 70 percent off."
Not that men are looking for sky-high heels (well, maybe…). The brands Moss is seeking to fill out their men's inventory include Rag & Bone, Theory, Vince, Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Burberry and more.
So do some spring cleaning, make some money and procure a few new pieces while you're at it, Dapper Dan. As every item in the store is unique, you're bound to walk out with a fashion-forward gem.
