Come Fly With Me, Let's Fly Away
California lifestyle brand embraces 'rad Austin vibes' at new South Congress shop
Everything is coming up Austin these days," reads the press release for lifestyle brand/clothing company Aviator Nation. "Time to get stoked!"
Though it's unclear if this emotion can be technically classified as "stoked," we certainly feel something at the news that the California-based company is opening at 1325 South Congress Ave.
Inspired by the '70s, Aviator Nation's collection includes "cozy sweats, hoodies, tees, tanks, outerwear, activewear, and swim for women, men, and kiddos." Peruse the clothing in-store beginning on October 3, or head online to get a better idea of what your new lifestyle entails.
Pictured activities include:
- Burning sage while wearing a bathing suit.
- Hanging out on the Pacific Coast Highway shirtless on a motorcycle.
- Skateboarding barefoot.
If those don't get you stoked, don't worry. The shop sells Austin-only pieces, too. "The store will also carry styles that are exclusive to Austin — totally on point with those rad Austin vibes," reads the release.
Among the city's first batch of goods is a custom 2018 Austin City Limits Fest T-shirt (with Childish Gambino!), Texas trucker hats, and Texas sweats.
Also radical is the use of murals in the shop, of which there are two, both designed by owner Paige Mycoskie. Texas native Samantha Thomas and Austin-based Brooke Robinson were tapped to create the artwork.
Aviator Nation, which is located just steps from the Continental Club, will feature a full stage and sound system "so that bands can just drop in and play."
"Aviator Nation will host monthly in-store events to really support local bands and artists with the goal to create a rad hangout for Austin's community of creatives," said the release. "All in all, the Austin store isn't just a place to shop, but truly a place to hang."
In addition to Austin, customers can hang at Aviator Nation's four shops in the Los Angeles area, as well as its stores in San Francisco and Aspen.
