Favorite online shop selects trendy Austin district for first store ever
After popping up in Austin for a limited time in the spring, online boutique ModCloth is planting roots in the Capital City. The lifestyle brand, known for its vintage-inspired women's clothing, will open its first permanent storefront on November 12 in the 2nd Street District.
"Austin's style is quirky and a bit retro, but still of-the-moment and centered on creating new trends ... it's very congruent with our styling POV," says ModCloth CEO Matt Kaness in a release. "It's no surprise that Austin is one of our top online markets and that the local ModCloth community there made our earlier pop-up a huge success, voting resoundingly 'Yes!' for us to come back."
The 4,000-square-foot store will feature an assortment of ModCloth's signature garments, as well as the ModCloth Wedding line. And, every garment in the store will be offered in every size, from XXS to 4X, notes the release. Shoes, jewelry and accessories, home decor, and local wares from Betty Alida and Vinca will also be available.
Perhaps most exciting for fans of the brand is the option to book an appointment with a ModStylist. These complimentary personal shoppers consult with customers on style, fit, and size.
The store will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, November 12, with live music, craft workshops, and beauty bars (how else?). ModCloth, located at 200 W. Second St, will be open from 10 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm Sunday.
