CultureMap: What inspires you to do what you do?
Brennan Stravlo: Obviously, I love a challenge. I enjoy the challenge of earning someone's business and trust. I enjoy the challenge of each transaction and the negotiations, which are always different. However, I am happy to report 100 percent of all my clients agree that I bring value to their purchase or sale and come back to me as their real estate broker.
CM: What's one piece of advice you’d give to people looking for their dream home?
BS: Remember what can be changed, think about your lifestyle, and it never hurts to have another $100,000 in your budget.
CM: And advice to those who are selling?
BS: Be realistic and trust your Realtor, remembering that everything will go better if you work as a team. Get your property as ready as you can — stage it! If you can, leave town the first weekend so we can have as many showings as possible.
CM: Sum up Austin in three words.
BS: Outdoors. Inventive. Future.
CM: What do you consider your "special skill"?
BS: Besides building relationships with my clients and figuring out what their needs are outside of finding them the right property, I try to make sure everyone is having fun during the process.
CM: Finish the sentence: "It's a good day when..."
BS: I have back-to-back appointments, attend a closing, get a referral, and build a relationship with someone new. Oh, and when no one calls me before 8 am!
