A unique piece of Austin real estate (and cult classic film history) has just hit the market for less than $1 million. Dazed and Confused character Mitch Kramer's home in Austin's Allandale neighborhood is looking for its next owner to the tune of $950,000.
The iconic property at 6806 Pioneer Pl. was built in 1964, but has since been renovated. The listing is managed by Compass agents Chris and Marjorie Tinnell.
Notably, the home's front doors and shutters have been painted to match one of the film's iconic scenes in which Wiley Wiggins' character leaves his home to hop into the back of David Wooderson's (played by Matthew McConaughey) Chevelle.

The home sits on a .21-acre lot and features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two office spaces, and a dedicated game room. Upon entering, guests will notice the chevron pattern luxury vinyl plank flooring that can be found throughout the 2,137-square-foot residence.
The kitchen has an updated Frigidaire microwave and oven, a sleek glass cooktop, and ample storage with updated cabinet hardware. The kitchen also shares access with the dining room and living area, which is anchored by the gas log fireplace.
The dining room leads to the fenced backyard, which contains a wide wood patio, a shaded lounge area, xeriscaping, and several trees for added privacy.
The square footage of the listing does not include the size of the garage, the listing says, though the space is temperature controlled (which can be reverted, if its new owner desires).
The home's location in Allandale puts it within walking distance of Shoal Creek and the Sheffield Park pool and playground.
Richard Linklater's 1993 film Dazed and Confused was filmed all around Austin, featuring landmarks like Top Notch Hamburgers, the Americana Movie Theater (now the Yarborough Branch public library), and the famous moon tower. The introduced “new” actors like Ben Affleck (as Fred O’Bannion), Parker Posey (Darla Marks), Milla Jovovich (Michelle Borroughs), and of course, a very handsome and stoned Matthew McConoughey (David Wooderson).
Linklater and the cast reunited in Austin in fall 2024 for a special 30th-reunion event.
