Bring on the barbecue: Austin is one of the best cities in America for dining with your valentine

Austin named one of the best cities for dining with your valentine

Thanks to a stable of barbecue restaurants and a generally "weird" aesthetic, Austin has landed on yet another list of top cities for dining. This time, we rank as one of the 10 best cities for dining with your valentine, according to Trulia

The real estate listings website suggests Austin's live music venues and barbecue joints, combined with a "Keep Austin Weird" vibe, create the perfect storm for a romantic, if casual, Valentine's Day.
Where does Trulia suggest you dine in the Live Music Capital of the World? The standard (and might we add overdone) Salt Lick, Stubb's and Iron Works all make the cut. And for the adventurous in the bunch, Trulia suggests heading to SoCo, and (gasp!) stopping by the famous "I Love You So Much" graffiti.

"BBQ is the Texas standard, and you can find the famously delicious Salt Lick, Iron Works and Stubb’s BBQ joints within Austin city limits," the article states. "But if you’re interested in something a little more 'weird,' try SoCo, a shopping district stretching down South Congress Avenue from Downtown."

While the suggestions clearly lack originality, we appreciate the sentiment. After all, who says romance can't come in the simple form of brisket, brew and tunes?
