The Cocktail Chronicles
Watch this top Austin bartender mix up a traditional old fashioned
Want to make an old fashioned like a pro? Then watch this video, the first in Old Forester’s Cocktail Chronicles series. Austin bartender Sera Baxter goes traditional with her rendition, which she tops with a drunken cherry soaked in whisky.
This is how you can re-create her recipe:
Traditional Old Fashioned
Yields 1 drink
2 ounces Old Forester 1870 Original Batch
.25 ounce vanilla simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
One whisky ice cube
Orange peel
Pour simple syrup, bitters, and whisky in a glass. Add whisky ice cube and stir.
Pinch orange peel to release the oils and rub along the inside of the glass. Garnish with a drunken cherry.
