Celebrate International Women’s Day and honor the inspirational women in yourlife with LePA Skincare
This Thursday, LePA Skincare, owned by Slovenian native Manja Hossa, will host an event featuring music, food, wine and cocktails, and vendors from women-owned businesses to celebrate International Women’s Day. The spa will also offer discounts on spa services, and 15 percent of proceeds will benefit healincomfort4achange.org, which provides post-operative shirts for those recovering from breast cancer.
"[International Women’s Day] gives you a chance to think about and reflect on the other inspirational women in your life and show your gratitude in a more meaningful way."
“In Europe, March eighth is an important time to reflect on the advancement of women in the workplace and women's rights,” said Hossa. “Here in the states, we celebrate women on Mother's and Valentine's Day, but these days are mostly dedicated to mothers, wives and girlfriends. [International Women’s Day] gives you a chance to think about and reflect on the other inspirational women in your life and show your gratitude in a more meaningful way. We thought it would be a good time to expand the tradition to Austin and honor some of the amazing women here.”
Guests are encouraged to honor important women in their lives by submitting a short written blurb in advance about how a particular woman has impacted them. At the event, guests who submitted blurbs will be given a card and a rose to hand to the woman they wish to honor. Submit your blurb online at or email your story to shareyourstory@lepaskincare.com.
The event is being produced by MKVProductions, and The Upper Decks will provide hors d’oeuvres. Flat Creek Estates is providing wine, Treaty Oak Rum will provide cocktails, Steely’s Petite Treats will provide desserts, and DJ Catwalk will provide the music.
