Oh those Henrys
Wildly wealthy San Antonio family returns with celeb-filled $10 million bash
Last we left off with San Antonio's Los Henry family, daughter Maya was sashaying her way down a Dolce & Gabbana catwalk and papa Henry was celebrating his 56th birthday with Cardi B during a $4 million blowout before literally sailing off into the sunset.
After a seemingly quiet summer in which Maya moved to New York City and ended up on Page Six for dating a One Direction-er, a summer that for literally anyone else would be considered the craziest summer in the history of summers, the Henrys are back at it with another celebrity appearance-filled party. This particular affair was a 25th anniversary celebration of patriarch Thomas J. Henry's aptly named Thomas J. Henry Law Firm.
Having taken a four-month hiatus from multimillion-dollar party-throwing, the Henrys took over the San Antonio Convention Center on August 18. The entire convention center. Can you imagine walking up to the convention center — which is giant, mind you — and being turned away for a private party? "Oh, you can't come in, it's a private party," the guard would say. Confused, you would reply, "You mean it's a convention." "Nope, just an anniversary party." The mind boggles.
The Henrys are known for having a lot of celebs at their parties. Lance Bass was in attendance along with his husband who is listed in the press release as simply "and husband." (We think that's rather rude so we googled it and his name is Michael Turchin.)
Kelly Osbourne was also there and, editorial comment, we liked her glasses. Former Girls Next Door co-star Kendra Wilkinson, Lil John, Austin Mahone, and model Shanina Shaik were also in attendance. Champagne and Jell-O shots were served.
True to form, Los Henrys flew in Maroon 5, The Chainsmokers, and Enrique Iglesias to perform for the nearly 1,100 guests while George Lopez hosted the entire evening.
In all honesty, this sounds like a dream. Not a dream in the fanciful sense but in the literal sense, like the kind of dream someone brings up at the breakfast table and everyone patiently listens even though other people's dreams are so boring. Then, when it's over and the person is done talking, everyone politely agrees that doing Jell-O shots with George Lopez in a convention center is a weird dream and quietly goes back to their eggs.
