People shopping at Whole Foods on South Lamar got more than they bargained for Tuesday. Nakia, LZ Love and Quiet Company were just a few of the performances that had people dancing throughout the day starting at 7am.
The free shows were part of HAAM Benefit Day, a city-wide effort to help low-income and uninsured musicians get the health care they need. Businesses throughout the city, including Whole Foods, gave 5 percent of Tuesday's proceeds to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians.
Malford Milligan capped off the performances at Whole Foods but the shows continued throughout the day. Some unexpected hosts included Twin Liquors and Discount Electronics. Antone's, Momo's and Saxon Pub were among the venues keeping the party going throughout the night.
