More than a dozen of Austin's most luxurious hotels have earned some new accolades in U.S. News & World Report's just-released rankings of the best hotels and resorts in Texas for 2025.
The 15th annual report by U.S. News analyzes more than 31,000 properties across the United States, Europe, Bermuda, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Hotels are ranked based on industry awards, star ratings, published opinions from travel experts, and online guest reviews.
Austin's prestigious Commodore Perry Estate claimed the No. 2 spot in the publication's list of Best Resorts in Texas.
This resplendent hotel has been on the radar for many locals and out-of-towners who want the most extravagant experiences in the city. But a stay there won't come cheap, U.S. News warns, considering its numerous amenities and on-site activities.
"Guests can enjoy tequila tasting, practice their drawing skills in a botanical art class or enjoy a chef-prepared picnic on Sundays," the write-up says. "Visitors also have access to a 24-hour fitness center, and weekly fitness classes are offered. While the lavish accommodations and amenities are sure to impress, staying at the Commodore Perry Estate may put a dent in your wallet."
The hotel boasts three lavish styles for its guest accommodation, starting with its original Mansion Suites, which can range in size from 500 to 1,575 square feet.

"These suites nod to the Italian Renaissance revival with detailed stone design, grand furnishings and lush patterned fabrics," U.S. News says. "The Rooms at the Inn, which are 400 square feet, include oversized windows, Juliette balconies or French doors that lead out to the hotel's gardens or courtyard. The Suites at the Inn, which are 625 to 1,060 square feet, include a walkout to a private garden or terrace that shows off the sweeping views of the 10-acre property."
The property is also home to Lutie's, Commodore Perry's signature farm-to-table restaurant serving upscale seasonal dishes, cocktails, and more.
The esteemed hotel has received many top awards of late, including earning two Michelin Keys in its inaugural Texas guide. The Two Key status is awarded for uniquely designed hotels that provide exceptional stays with guaranteed memorable guest experiences.
