American Airlines adds new nonstop flight from Austin to Miami
American Airlines recently announced a new nonstop flight that will ease your layover woes. Starting March 5, 2015, American will add a new daily nonstop flight between Austin and Miami.
The flight will depart Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 6:10 am, arriving in Miami at 9:58 am. Return flights will depart Miami International Airport at 7:50 pm and arrive in Austin at 9:58 pm.
In addition to easing the headache of connecting flights, the new route is significant because it means Austin is now connected to all of American Airlines' eight hubs, says Bob Lander of the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau.
"The Miami airport is the largest U.S. gateway for Latin America and the Caribbean, and the second largest in the U.S. overall for international passengers," explains Lander. "The addition of this new route enables us to widen our outreach to several new business and leisure travel markets."
You may have to wait until next spring to make the trip, but you can start planning now. Tickets for the new Austin-Miami nonstop route will be available beginning October 5. You can purchase online at www.aa.com or call 1-800-433-7300.
