Several renowned Austin hotels and resorts were just declared the best in the world by Travel + Leisure readers, according to the publication's annual World's Best Awards.

Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa was honored as the No. 4 best resort in Texas, and five more distinguished Austin properties made the cut among T+L's list of the 15 best hotels in Texas.

Every year, Travel + Leisure surveys its readers to determine the ultimate travel experiences around the world, which include the top hotels, resorts, travel destinations, and more. The 2025 survey had more than 180,000 responses from T+L readers with over 657,000 votes across 8,700 accommodations, cruise lines, and other properties.

Omni Barton Creek reclaimed the No. 4 spot for 2025 after previously falling out of the top-five in 2024. The publication celebrated the five winners – the remaining four located in major metros such as Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas-Fort Worth – for their lavish atmospheres that makes guests feel like they've escape the hustle and bustle of their respective cities.

T+L specifically recognized Omni Barton Creek's numerous amenities, which span four golf courses, eight restaurants, and its rejuvenating spa.

Best hotels in Austin
The city's most opulent hotel, Commodore Perry Estate, was crowned the best hotel in Austin, according to T+L's "15 Favorite City Hotels in Texas of 2025." The hotel is a clear reader favorite, as it previously booked top-five spots in the publication's best Texas resorts list over the last two years.

Commodore Perry Estate succeeds at providing guests with a flawless level of service and accommodations, while on-site restaurant Lutie's add to the overall opulence of the property's amenities. The report goes even further to describe the estate as "downright perfect."

"The lush estate in Austin’s Hancock neighborhood feels like a little European getaway right in the heart of Texas," the report said. "Its rooms and suites feature gorgeous wallpapering, plush, four-poster beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and deep soaking tubs."

Guests could still have a memorable experience in Austin even if they never step foot off the 10-acre premises. But if visitors did choose to explore everything the city has to offer, the hotel provides an over-the-top travel method.

Other Texas awards
Austin was snubbed in T+L's list of the "15 Best City Hotels in the U.S."; The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston, Hotel Emma in San Antonio, and Fort Worth's Bowie House were the only Texas properties to earn acclaim.

In a separate list of the best American spas for 2025, Lake Austin Spa Resort ranked as the 13th best spa nationwide.

San Antonio was also deemed one of the best U.S. travel destinations in 2025, ranking 12th out of 15 total cities.

In a release, Travel + Leisure editor in chief Jacqui Gifford said the 2025 World's Best Awards "reflect a travel landscape in motion."
