Austin hotels and resorts shine in Travel + Leisure's highly coveted World's Best Awards
Two iconic Austin resorts, Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection and Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa, have earned high recognition in the 2023 edition of Travel and Leisure's highly coveted list of readers' favorite Texas resorts. The hotels' rankings are the latest accolades to get added to Austin's ever-growing catalog of top-tier lodging recommendations.
Travel and Leisure readers lauded the exceptional guest service and luxurious experiences provided by both Austin resorts, specifically dubbing the 10-acre Commodore Perry Estate as a "spectacular hidden gem."
Commodore Perry is a relatively new resort that broke onto Austin's travel lodging scene in 2020, offering "relaxed European elegance with true gracious Texas hospitality," according to their website. The hotel slipped from the winning spot in Travel and Leisure's2021 report to No. 2 in the 2022 edition, and currently ranks No. 3 in 2023.
Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa ranked No. 4 in the current report, falling one place from 2022. The resort boasts some of the most ultimate luxurious amenities, such as a gigantic 33,000 square foot fitness center, four 18-hole golf courses, several climate-controlled pools, and more.
"Nestled within 4,000 wooded acres of picturesque rolling hills at the edge of Austin – surrounded by pristine vistas, nature preserves, hiking trails and waterways – Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa curates an elevated experience of the Hill Country where style, craftsmanship and imagination come together in an experience as magnificent as Austin's Hill Country," their website says.
Elsewhere in Central Texas, San Antonio's La Cantera Resort and Spa (No. 2) and Hyatt Regency Hill Resort and Spa (No. 5) also earned spots in the report.
