Joan Jett, De La Soul set to take over downtown during Formula 1 weekend
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, De La Soul, Texas Tornados and Devotchka are just a few of the names set to take over downtown for Circuit of the Americas' Fan Fest 2014. The full music lineup for the free three-day festival also includes Black Joe Lewis, Dirty Heads, The Whigs, Heartless Bastards, Dale Watson, Grupo Fantasma and many more.
Fan Fest takes over the warehouse district downtown for the duration of Formula 1 weekend from October 31 through November 2, and features live music along with a variety of family-friendly activities. Festival-goers can enjoy three music stages, big glove boxing, jack-o'-lantern carving, a mechanical bull, karaoke as well as delicious food and libations for the adult crowd.
The majority of the activity will be centered around Fourth Street and Republic Square Park. However, the festival stretches from Third to Fifth streets, in between San Antonio Street and Congress Avenue.
Given the massive event, there will also be a few street closures to note. Fourth Street will be closed between San Antonio Street and Congress Avenue; a section of Colorado Street between Fourth and Fifth streets and San Antonio Street between Third and Fifth streets will also be closed.
