KVUE — Fast-casual eatery Freebirds World Burrito, which has over 100 locations, will now house its headquarters in Austin.
The company announced Tuesday that it completed the transition of its national headquarters from Emeryville, California to Northwest Austin. Company officials said that Central Texas is a good fit for the company, since more than 60 of its 100 locations are in Texas.
"The move signifies an important milestone for Freebirds, as all support operations are now housed under one roof in the Great Hills Corporate Center," the company said in a statement on its website.
Company officials also said that although it officially started in Santa Barbara in 1987, it has considered Central Texas its home since 1991, after opening its first Texas location in College Station.
