Colorado sandwich import — and campus-area favorite — Snarf's is cooking up a new location in Austin. Snarf's will start serving its famous oven-toasted subs at 1400 S. First St. on Monday, August 29.

This is the second Austin location for the sandwich shop, which opened near the University of Texas campus in 2014.

“We’ve received such a warm welcome from the Austin community and are thrilled to be opening our second location,” says CEO and Founder Jimmy Seidel, aka “Snarf.” “We’re excited to introduce new ‘Snarfers’ to our craveable food, colorful personality, and welcoming atmosphere.”

The first Snarf's opened in Boulder, Colorado, in 1996. Favorite sandwiches include the Italian, prime rib, French dip, and New York steak. Subs are made with generous portions of hand-sliced meats and cheeses; Snarf’s blend of giardiniera peppers; and fresh, crusty bread. Need another reason to visit? Snarf's is one of the 21 sandwich shops to visit before you die, according to Buzzfeed.

Snarf's on South First Street opens Monday, August 29. Hours are 11 am to 9 pm daily.
