Rare Austin Estate Up for Bid
Wow your Valentine with this Spanish Colonial Tarrytown estate going up for live auction
Looking for a special gift for your Valentine? Two days before Valentine’s Day, an Austin estate will be auctioned to the highest bidder. It’ll cost you a little more than a diamond ring or gold bracelet, though.
The 9,700-square-foot Casa Santuario, situated on five acres at 2600 Kenmore Court in the Tarrytown neighborhood, features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and three half-bathrooms. It also boasts views of Lake Austin. Renowned Austin architect Paul Lamb designed the Spanish Colonial-style home, which was built in 2003.
Laura Brady is managing director of luxury home specialist Concierge Auctions, which is conducting the February 12 auction. She said Casa Santuario is an ideal candidate for an auction.
“It is unique and one of a kind,” Brady said. “The best way to identify the value of a unique asset — whether fine art, antiquities, collectible cars or real estate — is through auction competition.”
The auction is also being advertising on television with this video, which boasts high production values and gives some insight into the estate's story:
The estate had been on the market for $15 million. Brady said there’s no minimum bid for the estate.
Austin residential real estate broker Jeannette Spinelli has the listing for the home, as does Dallas residential real estate broker Kyle Crews.
“This rare jewel has been silently marketed for almost six months. It was not until the owner was ready for her move to another city did the necessity to increase the intensity and scope of the marketing become immediate,” Spinelli said. “The collaboration with Concierge Auctions was a strategic choice, and one that has proven to be a wise choice for the sale of this precious sanctuary.”
Travis County tax records show Kim Granger owns the estate.
“She has a unique asset that is incomparable, thus difficult to value, and is willing to allow the market to identify the price in exchange for the time certainty of a sale so she can move on to other opportunities,” Brady said. “Casa Santuario offers the epitome of private, luxury living, while conveniently located near downtown Austin.”
The auction will be held at 6 pm, February 12. Bidders must register ahead of time and must be preapproved. For more information, visit TarrytownAuction.com.
