Going, going, gone!
Multimillion-dollar downtown Austin condo with sky-high views heads to auction block
A condo on the 32nd floor of The Austonian residential tower in downtown Austin is going on the auction block this summer with a potential sale price surpassing $3 million.
The owners are auctioning the 2,822-square-foot condo June 13 through real estate agent Dustin Weiss of Compass Realty’s ATX Real Estate Group and Tara McLean of Naples, Florida-based Elite Auctions.
“There is no minimum price, meaning it’s going to sell on auction day to the highest bidder regardless of price, making it a fantastic opportunity,” McLean says.
The two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom condo offers “breathtaking views” of downtown, Lady Bird Lake, and the Hill Country, according to McLean. Austin-based Gingerwood Design custom-designed the condo.
Features of the condo include:
- White oak flooring
- “Exquisite” stone in the bathrooms
- Entertainer’s kitchen
- Three assigned parking spaces and one storage unit in the building’s garage
- Services and amenities available to all residents of The Austonian
The condo went on the market for $3.375 million in September 2018 and was listed for $3.295 million in October 2019.
McLean says owners Randy and Susan Weiss put the condo up for auction “to take a more aggressive approach with the sale of their property.”
The Weisses are selling the condo because they’re building a house in Naples and want to live there full time, McLean says. They bought the condo in 2015. The 56-story Austonian, Austin’s second tallest building, opened in 2010.
