Spice It Up
Winners of best hot sauce in Austin crowned at 24th annual Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival
On Sunday, the 24th Annual Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival descended on Fiesta Gardens for another grand celebration of all things spicy. In addition to subjecting their taste buds to fiery flavors, guests helped raise more than 39,000 meals for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
After enjoying a day of cooking demonstrations and live music from Rosie & The Ramblers, Gumbo Ce Soir, El Tule and LaTasha Lee & The BlackTies, both festival attendees and a panel of judges comprised of Austin Chronicle staff crowned the best hot sauce in Austin.
Along with individual winners, the Hot Sauce Festival awarded several local restaurants and bottlers for their spicy accomplishments. Read on for the complete list of winners who brought the heat in 2014.
