"Technodrome" and its 24-foot castle facade form a gateway to a dystopian cyberpunk world. Set on a background of a faux castle wall, the exhibition is a merging of old and new, predicting a future that is both exciting and terrifying.
A common thread among all artists is a counter-culture attitude; most are anonymous in their public works. "Technodrome" offers them an unapologetic platform that elevates their expression without a filter. The show makes references to existential choice, pop-culture, toys, and horror; a combination that, like the artists involved, inspires viewers to think critically about the world.
"Technodrome" is curated by artists Gd Wright, Steef Crombach, and The Death Head, and will be open during the Austin Studio Tour, alongside their 21 artist studios.
The exhibition will be on display through November 19.
